Some of you work for large corporations where the company mission statement is boldly emblazoned upon every promotional item you pass out. You know your target market and you have a pile of marketing materials to hand out.
Others have their own businesses where they wear all the hats so the marketing materials might not be as snazzy as a large corporation’s; but where they lack in “bang” they make up for in passion. Small business owners are exuberant about sharing their businesses with others.
Still others have businesses large or small which have many different products or services. In this case, when going to a networking event, choose just one or two products to share with people at the networking event. Many event goers frequently try to share ALL their products, resulting in confusion to the new people they are meeting. Keep it simple and focus on one or two products or services.
